Give Your Country House a Long Life.

Give Your Country House a Long Life.

Give Your Country House a Long Life.

Country House is a unique world where no urban laws are in force. This is a place where people want to be natural, where one does not have to bother about business talks and official suits, where one can hide from daily chaos and haste, do something about a garden, lie in the sun, do absolutely nothing or treat friends with shashlik at evening fire. And it is no surprise that modern high tech world is charmed and fascinated with modest magic of a Russian country house: coziness of a wooden house with windows opening into shadowy garden, peaceful tea party on a sunny terrace, song of a summer rain on a window glass, accompanied by an evening fire in a fireplace.

Wood was and remains the most natural and favorite construction material for us. Unfortunately, besides its undeniable positive features, it possesses some negative ones: it may greatly suffer from environmental impact. What difficulties might a wooden house owner come across?

The main factors influencing wood reliability and comfort of habitation are indoor and outdoor temperature differences, rainfalls, solar radiation, wind loads. The main cause of wood destruction is a high humidity level. Thus the main method of wood protection becomes wood dehydration. Wooden constructions should be designed in a such way that provides for a good water drainage and prevents penetration of water. A base shall be high enough (above ground level), sufficient overhang and sharp roof slopes (not less than 15°), properly functioning piped drainage system, covered or painted plank and beam flat ends through which water is easily infiltrated should be arranged. Wood sections shall be sealed in other to prevent water access to it. One should also think about ground water drainage and perimeter walks. Biostability qualities are improved through good aeration of the wood thus enabling natural dry up process. This is one of the reasons why it is important to have around the house big trees creating shadow and hindering air flow. A canopy arrangements above windows and doors will also give good protection against sun and humidity. In order to avoid indoor condensation it is necessary to arrange heat and steam proof layers (the first one closer to the outdoor, cold surface, and the other one closer to the indoor, warmer, one).

In case wood is not protected against humidity it can suffer from blue stains, mold and fungus. Blue stains are most likely to appear in June-August period. Initially blue stains do not destroy wood but change its color only. But one should remember that they create a growth medium for wood destroying mold and fungus, e.g. white house fungus or house watery fungus, that strike wooden house ground floors and basements in 70% of cases.

Front face of the wood surface slowly turns from bright yellow-brown into gray. The wood fades. Fresh wood, as a rule, fades within one year. This process influences neither wood solidity, nor other features, but wood loses its natural beauty.

What shall I do? One can ask. The answer is simple. Today protection of wood against humidity, microorganisms and environment is achieved through application of special compounds influencing specific microorganisms and safe for humans, animals and nature. But purchasing of base coat, anti mold and fungus protective coat together with decorative paint is quite inconvenient and expensive. That why Rongneda, one of the domestic leaders in the paint and varnish market offered a new wood texture coating called the Favorite Country House.

This compound is intended for treatment of sawn and wrought indoor and outdoor wooden constructions and furniture and provides a long lasting protection without preliminary precoating, i.e. bash varnishing is not required. The coating creates airproof varnish layer letting water out of the wood but preventing it from getting inside. The Favorite Country House recipe includes special antiseptics protecting wood against mold, decay and wood coloring fungus, as well as UV-filters preventing wood from fading.

Providing low cost (20 % cheaper than similar Aquatex) and low consumption (5-8 m2/l for swan and 8-12 m2/l for wrought wood) the compound creates high quality decorative and protecting layer. With the Favorite Country House assistance you can paint your constructions as fine wood, retaining its natural structure adding necessary color and hue to it. You can choose out six basic colors: rosewood, oregon, nut, cowslip, mountain ash or pine. Besides you can mix this colors to get new hues.

The Favorite Country House compound is offered in Euro bucket package that serves a good protection against fakes and keeps compound hermetically sealed during transportation. The compound is approved by the Territorial Administration of the Federal Supervision Authority for Consumers Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing for the City of Moscow. The compound shelf life is two years and coating durability is not less than 3-4 years.

The new compound was developed in the Scientific and Research Center of Rogneda Company based in Russia.

How to use the Favorite Country House?

Mix the compound before application. Clean the wood surface from dirt and foreign particles. Wash mould surface with a special detergent. Wash the wood surface with water and dry. Pad nail heads and other rusty metal elements with primingApply the compound with a brush or roll (spraying and dipping is also possible) in a continuous layer along wood fibers, paying special attention to areas that will be in contact with water and/or sun light. When decorating interiors two layers recommended with intermediate dry up period of two hours and polishing with damp-proof fine sandpaper. The full dry up period with ambient temperature of 20°С is 24 hours. It is recommended to knead the compound before application and avoid mixing with compounds of other type and brand. It is not recommended to work with the compound in hot and windy weather or apply it under direct sun light. It may cause intensive solvent evaporation when drying that in its turn might result in beads formation. Know, when you know all recommendations we are absolutely sure that after decoration works are finished, your country house will feel your love and care and become the most beautiful and cozy house that will be giving your a lot of joy for many years.
