BKM-200 Mastic (asphalt and rubber waterproof roof mastic)

1. No hot work is required by the mastic application.

6. Has high heat-resistance up to +120°C (does not flow down from the surface at an angle up to 45°).
7. Has high cold-resistance to -50°C. The coating is highly elastic up to 2 mm in diameter (the product can be used in the conditions of the Far North: Yakutia, Tyumen, etc.).
8. Ensures long coating life - the estimated service life is up to 20 years.
9. The product passed the certification tests in the Central Research Institute for Industrial Buildings and is recommended for use by the leading design, repair, and construction organizations.
10. The paints is sold fully ready for use.

GENERAL INFORMATION

The BKM-200 mastic (TU 2384-008-13238275-97) is a solution of asphalt, rubber and special additives in an organic solvent. After drying the coatings on its base have high elasticity at the temperatures from -40°C to +120°C, increased wet strength, strain- and weather resistance. The coatings are distinguished by high adhesion to the treated materials. As a result of having only one component, the mastic is more convenient to work with, than the compounds with hardener, whose service life after mixing is limited.

The mastic was permitted for application by the Center of State Sanitary and Epidomiological Control of Moscow.

PURPOSE AND APPLICATION FIELDS

The BKM-200 mastic was designed for waterproofing of surfaces made of brick, concrete, wood, metal, asphalt roofing materials, etc.

It is recommended to use the mastic when carrying out the following kinds of work:

• roofing and repair of bituminous roofing, using rolled roofing materials, and without them;
• waterproofing of foundations, basements, cellars, piles, supports, and other objects, placed under ground or in contact wtih humid environment;
• waterproofing and anticorrosive treatment of metal structures, pipelines, containers, as well as elements of car body.

APPLICATION TECHNIQUES

The BKM-200 mastic must be stirred thoroughly before use, if necessary, or at low temperatures diluted by a solvent (gasoline, white spirit, paint thinner, xylene, 646 and 647 solvents). The BKM-200 mastic should be applied at the temperature of the air and the base from 0 to +40°C to a dry clean surface by a brush, putty knife, roll, dispener with the subsequent levelling by a special instrument as well as by hydraulic or airless spraying.

Application of the coating using rolled materials.

Stick asphalt-base waterproofing materials (ruberoid, glassdampproofing, etc.) to the protected surface using the mastic with the subsequent treatment of the joints with the mastic (total consumption up to 2 l/m²)

Producing coating from the mastic.

Apply to the protected surface a layer of the mastic with the thickness up to 3 mm (consumption up to 4-4.5 l/m²). It is recommended to apply a coating layer by stages (consumption not more than 1 l/m² per one stage) with the lay-up of glass-fabric reinforcment layers in-between. It is recommended to apply a layer of the ZMS-05 protective reflecting compound produced by NPP Rogneda, or a protective sand or fine gravel layer over the coating.

The drying time varies depending on the layer thickness from 12 to 24 hours. The time of final acquisition of the properties - 7 days.

Storage conditions: store at a temperature not exceeding +40°C.

Warranty shelf life - 12 months from date of manufacture.
