 Q: Is it possible to apply Aquatex compound after the application of KSD? Will wood have fire-retarding properties in this case?

A:  It is possible to apply «Aquatex» overKSD without losing the properties of both the compounds under room conditions. In this case you should provide for good drying of the processed surface after its impregnation with the KSD compound. You should also observe the KSD consumption rates indicated on the label (1 l per 2 sq.m.). Exceeding the consumption rates may result in the formation of blooms which will hinder the application of Aquatex. Aquatex drying period will increase to 7 days and more.

Q: What is the difference between Aquatex and Pinotex (other texturing coatings)?

A: Unlike Pinotex,«Aquatex» does not require base and can be applied to moist wood (up to 40 % moisture). As regards service life, we can say that all compounds can be stored during approximately the same time – 4-6 years.

Q: Is it possible to apply Aquatex over oil varnish (other paints or varnishes)?

A: «Aquatex» is an impregnating compound, therefore, it must be applied to clean (unprocessed) wood. It is not allowed to apply the compound to the surfaces previously processed with oil varnish or paint. It is possibly to apply Aquatex over old texturing coatings (for instance, Pinotex).
